At least two functional areas involve several additional approaches and concepts

• Robot Motion
  • blocking and non-blocking commands
  • need for additional data structures and threads for non-blocking timing
• Image Display
  • Creation of a separate process
  • Two-way communication over pipes

The implementation of these capabilities shows considerable variation among Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows 10
