Science Phase 2: Views from the Crane

Deck Pour One: 15 December 2005

The following pictures show several views from the tower crane, moving from west to east. Within a section, views proceed south to north.

Western section: concrete is worked into place;
top part is complete, workers finish the lower central section, concrete is pumped through the concrete pumper's pipe (white) in the lower right

Altogether, the floor is about 6" thick, supported on beams over 1' deep.
Central Section: progressing from south to north

Central section: the line of wooden 2x4's near the top third of the picture shows the division between the first concrete pour (above) and the central section (below).
north-central section
North-central section: the dividing line with the western section is barely visible at the top-left of the picture.
With the concrete being poured in the western area, the central section becomes a storage area.
Eastern Section: progressing counterclockwise from south to north
south-eastern section (1)
South-eastern section: deck extends toward the existing Science building; the court yard area is in the upper left
south-eastern section (2)
South-eastern section: decking now extends through much of the eastern section, although some gaps still are present near the eastern wall on the right.
north-eastern section
North-eastern section: Decking for beams and floors is seen in the central section (lower part of the picture); just base decking extends to the eastern section (upper part of the picture).
