Science Phase 2: Views from the Crane

The following pictures show several views from the tower crane. Ariel pictures cover several sections, providing a wonderful overview of the work in progress.

Western and West-Central Sections
west section (1)
Western section looking north: The concrete second floor provides a base for columns and materials storage.
west section (2)
Western section looking north and slightly east: The columns on the left rise above the finished second floor. Rebar is being placed on the shoring for the central section on the right.
west and central sections
Western and central sections looking south-west: Rebar is being added to the shoring in the central section (left); the concrete second floor is poured on the west (right) section.
Central and Eastern Sections
central and east sections
Central and Eastern Sections: Looking from over the current science building toward the Chiller Plant on the east. Shoring supports on the east are covered with decking, and then by metal pans for flooring. Proceeding down the picture, rebar is added to beam areas in the middle of the picture, and rebar mats are in position for floors near the picture's bottom. The edge of the courtyard is visible in the lower right.
central-south section
Central Section - South: Looking southward from Eighth Avenue, rebar is largely in place on the right, while decking forms are being finished on the left.
central-north- section
North and Eastern Sections: Looking north from the crane's boom above the existing Science Building. The stages of work (shoring, plywood decking, metal decking, beam rebar, floor rebar) are seen from right to left.
