Science Phase 2: Views from the Crane

The following pictures show several views from the tower crane, moving from west to east.

Western Section

Western section, looking west: Third-floor decking is installed on the west (top of picture), with beam areas between floor areas.

Western section: Another view of the third-floor western section. Installation of decking is just entering the central section.
Central Section

Central section, looking west: In the central area, 4" by 4" beams support cross pieces that form the first layer of the foundation for the decking.
Eastern Section
south-eastern section (1)
South Eastern Section, looking south: Concrete has just been poured in the southern and central parts of the eastern section. The fan-looking units at the top of the picture are used for smoothing the freshly-poured concrete.
north-eastern section (1)
North Eastern Section: The pumping and forming of concrete proceeds from the south toward the north. While concrete is poured in one area, workers work it into the beams and floor areas.
north-eastern section (2)
North Eastern Section: Another view of the concrete pumping. The grid pattern shows the position of future tracks for the stacks in the library.
